The balm helps moisturise and soothe dry and inflamed skin
A multi-purpose balm for the face and body featuring an ingredient derived from the ‘Tree of Life’ has been launched by Elemental Herbology.
The balm, itself called ‘Tree of Life’, is rich in buriti oil. This ingredient contains a high level of essential fatty acids, and comes from the fruit pulp of Mauritia flexuosa, a Brazilian palm tree also known as the ‘Tree of Life’. The buriti oil is sourced by the Amazonian Project from local communities who maintain traditional techniques of harvesting.
The British beauty brand says the balm helps moisturise and soothe dry and inflamed skin, and says it is ideal for stretch marks and chapped lips and hands.
Another important ingredient is alaria esculenta extract, an algae from Brittany with anti-oxidant properties that helps to lock moisture into the skin, improve the skin’s barrier function and protect against the environment. It also lifts, firms, repairs and nourishes the skin.
Active ingredients include shea butter, rosa canina fruit and calendula, while macadamia, sweet almond and argan oil are also used in the formula.
