Attracting 25 high-level delegates from 13 countries, a spa design seminar organised by Helo Germany has been hailed a success.
Taking place at the Helo Spa Academy in Knuellwald, Germany earlier in February, the Helo Spa and Wellness Seminar included presentations and discussions with architects and designers over the course of two days.
The seminar aimed to provide architects with a better understanding of how to design specialist areas in a spa and offer insights into finding opportunities, adding value and avoiding common pitfalls.
As well as presentations given by Helo, WDT, Trautwein, Promet and Sommerhuber, the event offered a number of discussions on how to overcome the design challenges of the sauna, steam and wet areas in spas. These covered issues such as how to make a spa more profitable; how to increase spa performance through innovation; and the benefits of infrared rooms and heated spa ceramic solutions.
The seminar has been praised by a number of attendees. Omar Khayat, technical & design manager at Watermaster Qatar, highlighted the large amount of “useful and important information shared by all candidates and speakers, some theoretical and some technical”.
Spa Creators director Alistair Johnson said: “The Helo seminar provided a great forum to understand the technical aspects of the specification of the thermal equipment and key issues when specifying a space layout.
“In addition, it was interesting to see some of the innovations and understand from a manufacturers’ perspective what they see as the trends in the market, where they are developing, and their impact on future design.”
Meanwhile, Promet’s Mehmet Kabas noted the “good international selection of companies” and variety of innovations, and was pleasantly surprised by the level of interest in Turkish hammams.
