Spaceforme's EN Series chair
The leisure industry is being urged to do more to encourage good posture with the availability of an ergonomically-shaped chair originally designed to prevent the hazards of prolonged sitting positions in a classroom environment.
UK company Spaceforme has now opened the EN Series chair up to the leisure market through a network of UK dealers, having previously only been available in the education sector.
The product was previously manufactured by government-backed Remploy, which had a directive of direct sales to schools and colleges. The chair proved popular and received a commendation from the Furniture Industry Research Association, and when Remploy closed a bidding war between many furniture companies for its Intellectual Property rights was sparked.
Spaceforme says the chair, which features a lightweight and durable shell, will help promote the theme of health and vitality throughout the premises of private gyms, health clubs, sports clubs, local authorities, leisure centres, and personal training facilities, among others.
