08 Feb 2010 Audiball inclusive footballs Supplier: Audiball More details
The Audiball is a football designed to be inclusive of people with varying abilities with small bells situated inside the bladder of the ball.
These bells allow players to hear where the ball is in relation to them and gives the chance for visually impaired players to play alongside their non-visually impaired peers.
The ball itself is softer than a normal regulation football, giving players the chance to also get involved in a range of catching games to further enhance inclusive participation.
The ball has been particularly successful among those with autism and is also suitable for pan disabilities.
The Audiball is currently being used in a range of schools and projects. This includes a pilot scheme undertaken by Tottenham Hotspur Foundation in north London to support children to access PE sessions in mainstream schools.
