Trident Microsystems is introducing two waterproof widescreen televisions from Videotree.
Approved for wet room applications, the new Videotree LCD television sets are available in a 17.1in in-wall or wall mount type or a 7.2in size that is designed to be stand-alone, allowing it to be mounted virtually anywhere in a bathroom using a swan-neck arm.
The 7.2in model also features auto screen reverse if the unit is inverted. The smaller unit can be connected as a slave to a main bedroom or lounge television, allowing entertainment or information to be extended into another room, such as a bathroom.
Each TV is safe to use in a wet-room environment meeting IP65 sealing requirements and including suitable external speakers. An appropriate 12Vdc, 3.0A power adapter is included as well as a waterproof remote control unit. The units can also be customised with a variety of coloured front inlays and backplates to complement surrounding décor or branding.
The widescreen LCD panels enable a very slim outline, while each has an integrated digital receiver allowing delivery of free-to-air and subscription digital channels.
The units are multi-standard PAL/SECAM/NTSC, allowing easy integration into designs intended for sale in major markets throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas. The screens are video quality TFT-LCDs, having high brightness and contrast ratios for clear and easy viewing.
With the larger version it is possible to deliver power, audio, radio, television, video and security camera feeds via a single coaxial cable, enabling rapid connection to numerous services without extensive and unsightly wiring.
