Instyle ten years in the saddle

Supplier: Instyle Fitness

More Instyle Fitness details
Instyle Aerobikes celebrates its 10th birthday this year and is marking the occasion with a special version of its V850 and special prices for 100 bikes.

The company evolved from one the UK's first mountain bike companies, which introduced colour and design to mountain bikes throughout the 1980s and early 1990s. In 1995 - as group Aerobiking classes were just taking off - the market was using bikes designed by fitness companies. With poor geometry and no brakes, these were, as a result, felt to be inherently unsafe.

Instyle launched its first and most basic model - the V400 - in 1996, and the first of its very popular bikes the V500, which was updated in 1998 to the V600.

1999 saw the introduction of the Orange V800SE, a heavier duty-looking bike, this being quickly followed by the midnight blue V800STS in 2001.

In 2002 Instyle was first to bring in a children's class bike with safety free wheel as well as intuitive braking systems and safety pedals. It also introduced and promoted the circuit culture for children while using the bike.

In 2004 the company's new frame was launched with the whiteV800SQ, this followed by the purple V900 which - following two years of testing - represented Instyle's first belt- drive bike.

With the introduction of the V900, Instyle was again the first to offer a full range of bikes covering different chain/belt drives and resistance formats.

It uses the new frame for the two existing models - V800SQ/V900 - and has added the golden V850 in racing green in 2006 to celebrate the company's 10th birthday.

The V850 is a chain driven bike with integral quick releases allowing four-way micro frame adjustment of the frame.

In further recognition of its special birthday, Instyle is offering 100 bikes of the modern version of its original bikes for the price at which they were introduced - the V600 is £299/bike ex VAT and the V800SQ £399/bike ex VAT.
