Innerva

About us
Innerva are a UK manufacturer of ‘Power Assisted Exercise’ equipment for older adults, those with long-term health conditions and anyone uncomfortable in a traditional gym environment. Unlike conventional exercise equipment, Innerva’s electronic power system enables users to work passively or actively, with a focus on improving aerobic fitness, muscular strength, balance, flexibility and social wellbeing. As the user does not have to provide the motive force, they do not have to overcome inertia to use the machines, so it is a perfect choice for anyone new to exercise or those limited by their mobility or health. The vast majority of people who use our equipment would not exercise otherwise.

Background
For over 30 years Innerva, part of Shapemaster Global have been manufacturing specialist dual-function power assisted exercise equipment from its base in West Yorkshire, that is sold worldwide to the leisure, rehabilitation, therapy, care and retirement markets.

Key products and services
At Innerva our mission is to create innovative exercise solutions that keep older adults and those living with limited mobility both physically and socially active throughout their lives.

Led by science, our product development teamwork with academic and university partners to continuously drive innovation and ensure our products meet the needs of end users. The Innerva circuit model is a range of power assisted exercise machines that provides a full body workout in as little as 30-40 minutes for those who need that extra ‘helping hand’ to be able to exercise, and to do so in a more social environment. The launch of our Access Range in 2022 provides some new machines which provide for wheelchair access too.

Health clubs and leisure centres across the UK and worldwide attract hundreds of new members, most of whom would never have even considered a traditional fitness setting. The Innerva circuit provides users with a safe and effective leisure opportunity and health and wellbeing benefits as a result, including improved fitness, balance, flexibility, and mobility which impacts positively on their lives outside the setting.

In addition to attracting a completely new demographic, providing for harder to reach individuals within the local community, and the opportunity to develop long term partnerships with health, social care and other third sector providers, the Innerva solution offers the potential to generate new annual revenue. But more importantly it can support organisations to meet health and community objectives and KPIs, supporting older populations to become and stay more active and helping users retain their independence as they age.

As part of our ongoing support to customers Innerva provide an exclusive online portal featuring a dedicated knowledge and research zone, ongoing marketing resources, a community chat board where operators can share best practice and online training and support materials.
